Hi,
I've to change a domain name, in the meanwhile that I complete the work with the right 301 Redirect for all the pages, I'm thinking to approach in the following way:
- set the Robots in order to avoid that google will spider the site
- change all the necessary
- create the new sitemap
- reset the Robots to the normal
- submit the new sitemap

Will I have negative impact due to the Robots update?

Is it the right approach?

Regards
Enzo

My corporate website is managed with a third party CMS and I can't upload new files on the server. I can add pages but I don't have any option to create a robots.txt file.

I saw many other websites doesn't provide a robots.txt file but I don't know whether this can harm my website ranking.
