I'm planning to start some Adwords campaigns for my website and I would like to track visits and conversions with Google Analytics.

Google Analytics is already installed.

I know it's possible to connect Google Analytics and Adwords accounts but I don't know how. Can you help me or provide me a step by step tutorial?

To connect a Google Analytics account with Google Adwords you must have administrator privileges on both accounts.

The exact procedure can vary:

  • If you opened a Starter Edition AdWords account
  • If you're linking accounts that are part of a My Client Center account

Here's the official English tutorial.

In a nutshell:

  1. Log in to your AdWords account at https://adwords.google.com.
  2. Click the Reporting tab and click 'Google Analytics.'
  3. If you don't have an Analytics account, click the Continue button to sign up for one.
  4. If you already have an Analytics account, click I already have a Google Analytics account.
  5. From the Existing Google Analytics Account drop-down list, select the name of the Analytics account you'd like to link to. Can't see it there? You'll need to add your AdWords username to your Analytics account as an Account Admin ( Learn how).
  6. Keep the checkboxes selected on this page, unless you're sure you'd like to disable auto-tagging and cost data imports
  7. Click Link Account.
